Launch Thanksgiving Service

On September 14, 2008, we celebrated our “Launch Thanksgiving Service.” It was a wonderful time for our church to worship God together with many guests, giving thanks to God for His steadfast love and faithfulness to our church. New Life Mission Church of Glendale was launched six months ago. When we started, we didn’t even have a name or a place to meet. But God in His kind providence has been providing for us all that we need. Beginning with the Korean Southwest Presbytery (PCA) approving our church plant as its mission, and with the New Life Mission Association admitting us into the New Life family, we were able to develop our church identity and affirm our ecclesiastical ties. And with New Life Burbank and Yewon Church generously sharing their facilities with us, providing our first two "homes," we’ve always had a place where the church could gather.

And what an encouragement the gathering of the church has been! The Lord has been faithfully gathering us for these past six months, and through our mutual ministry to one another, God has been graciously building us up. Though many challenges of being a young church are ever with us, by large measure, we’ve been able to worship, fellowship, and serve gladly and joyfully, testifying to God’s goodness and greatness. Seeing the church come together, through times of joy and sorrow, being there for one another, spurring one another on, has been such a blessing. By His grace, we continue to strive together to be a community of grace where the gospel of Jesus Christ is preached and pursued, where we seek to experience grace and extend grace together. As we commit ourselves to advancing God’s kingdom, one life at a time, we are hopeful and confident that God will be pleased to use us as His instruments.
